Thursday 12th February @6pm in the Hall of the school

The Friends of Stanground St John’s (FOSSJ) PTA Association will be holding an Emergency General Meeting (EGM) on Thursday 12th February @6pm in the Hall of the school. This meeting has been called following the decision of several committee members to step down and, unfortunately, the current lack of volunteers coming forward to take on these roles. As a result, without new members joining the committee, we may be forced to begin the process of dissolving the association during the midterm holidays.

We warmly encourage any parents or carers who may be interested in helping to “save” FOSSJ to attend this meeting. Whether you are able to commit to a formal role or simply want to find out more about what is involved, your presence and ideas would be very welcome. Without sufficient volunteers, FOSSJ simply cannot continue to operate.

As a reminder, FOSSJ was created to enhance the pupils’ experience at Stanground St John’s, raising funds through events such as discos, fayres, creative workshops, and initiatives like custom Christmas cards.

Over the years, the association has helped to fund annual school trips, books for the library, book bags for new starters, gifts for leavers, and more. With the school’s limited funding—partly due to its size and attendance—FOSSJ has played a vital role in ensuring that all children have opportunities to learn and experience life beyond the classroom. We sincerely hope that, with the support of the school community, this important work can continue.

But we need YOU.
